The Land of Elephants
The Chobe National Park is vast and covers a large part of the north eastern part of Botswana, with Kasane being the small town that services the area. Accommodation ranges from camping grounds to small family lodges, as well as luxury bush camps and some larger lodges dotted along the riverfront. From breath-taking sunsets over the Chobe River to hippos frolicking in the water nearby, you may even get a close up encounter with one of Chobe’s regular visitors – the African Elephant.
Best Time To Visit
We can definitely help you determine what is the best time for you to go. Botswana has both wet and dry seasons. In Chobe National Park, you will find a wider variety of bird species during wet season. When it comes to game migration: during dry season most animals stay around the riverside. When wet season begins, the interior pans (Savuti) provide amazing game sights. Although this is worth visiting all year round, April, May and November are particularly good times.
Big Five Safari
The big predators dominating Chobe National Park are cheetah, wild dog, lion, leopard and hyena. Large herds of elephant and buffalo also roam the area, seeking water and refreshment. Unfortunately, the rhino population has been decimated, but is slowly – and successfully - being reintroduced into private areas of Chobe National Park.

As you make the trip of a lifetime, you obviously don’t want to be distracted by over-packing items that become irrelevant obstacles. Therefore, we will try to answer all the questions you might have before you go. Remember: what you pack also depends on how you are traveling, with who, and where you are going. If you are flying in for a short stay (no more than ten days), don’t to pack too much.

Falcon safaris have given my the correct advice with excellent service. The only suggestion will be to work closer with the lodges to confirm bookings as soon as possible. We have booked and pay our deposit a year in advance. We have only receive our final convermation from Chobe Safari lodge a week before departure.
