An early morning wake-up, and after some coffee, an early morning walk in the Moremi Game Reserve, returning after about three hours for a hearty breakfast. During the heat of the day, you can relax, and then after lunch another excursion by mokoro and on foot. Dining by the light of the campfire under the canopy of the ‘African Sky’ completes your day. If you are particularly energetic, you can go out on a longer walking safari, taking a picnic breakfast or lunch with you.
Walking safaris are truly one of the best ways to go out on safari, enabling you to be ‘at at one’ with the environment, and obtain stunning views of both the wildlife and birdlife of the Okavango Delta. Your guide will be happy to track and stalk particular animals that you are interested in seeing.
Another early morning safari, then return to Oddballs for lunch, and a rest before going out again for a mokoro excursion. You may also be interested in visiting the nearby village, where your guide will be proud to show you his home and introduce you to his family – a unique experience, especially if this is your first visit to Africa.
After your four-night stay at Oddballs, you will take a light aircraft flight to Xakanaxa in the heart of the Moremi. The scenic flight takes about 20 minutes. The focus is on game viewing in this beautiful area of open grassland and ancient Mopani forest, waterways, and Falcons. Activities are game drives and boating. Permanent water and varied vegetation zones combine to support the wide range of species that inhabit this area. Boating on the Xakanaxa lagoon and to the heronries of the Xobega and Gudikwa lagoons has become an iconic activity for visitors to this area.

The Khwai River, the easternmost branch of the Okavango Borders the Moremi Game Reserve and brings water to an otherwise arid area. This life-giving water attracts a spectacular array of animals – lion, leopard, wild dog, and cheetah are frequently encountered whilst elephants are common throughout the area.
After breakfast, you will be transferred by light aircraft to the Savute area. The focus in this area is on game drives. The Savuti has over the years developed a reputation as a prime place to view predators in Botswana, especially lion and spotted hyenas. The Savuti lies within the Chobe National Park and boasts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife on the African continent. The Savuti Channel itself was a river, but in 1982 it abruptly stopped flowing. The event was extensively covered by various wildlife documentaries. After the first summer rains have fallen, tens of thousands of zebra migrate to this area to feast on the sweet marsh grasses.
After a morning activity and breakfast you will be transferred by light aircraft to Maun airport, in time to connect with your return Air Botswana flight, departing at 15h00 and arriving in Johannesburg at 16h40.

We travelled with Falcon Safaris in Zimbabwe and Botswana for 16 days. Falcon designed a wonderful trip with private guide to the most interesting sites in both countries. The organization of the whole trip was excellent, flights within the country, accommodation and activites. The guides were very knowledgable and told us a lot about the countries, their history, people, economy and much more.
Our Consultant Vimbai was very helpful and accommodating. We stayed at the Elephant hills hotel which was nothing short of amazing. Our activities included a helicopter flight, dinner cruise as well as a morning game drive. All the activities were absolutely amazing.
Our trip consisted of accommodation and tours in Victoria Falls, transfers to Botswana, accommodation and photography safaris there, then transfers back to Zimbabwe. Transfers, accommodation again in Vic Falls. My communication was with Ludwick who was amazing. He went way above and beyond normal service to make me feel confident in the organisation of our trip
We worked with Gertrude to schedule and organize everything and she did an excellent job. I asked a lot of questions via e-mail and she answered everyone in a timely helpful manner. Our guide at Victoria Falls was also great. He met us at the airport, provided a thoughtful tour of the Falls and got us to our next guide in Botswana.
Falcon safaris have given my the correct advice with excellent service. The only suggestion will be to work closer with the lodges to confirm bookings as soon as possible. We have booked and pay our deposit a year in advance. We have only receive our final convermation from Chobe Safari lodge a week before departure.
I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon with the elephants. I rode an 8 year old female, her name is not in my head, and it was magical. She loved her treats at the end of the ride and her trainer was a lovely man. We talked the whole hour and he taught me so much about these magical creatures.
Gertrude was always very prompt in replying during the planning process and very helpful with visa information. This trip to Africa was our first and we started with Kenya and a 10 day safari. We wanted to experience water camps and lodges as well so worked with Falcon to make that happen.
myself and my 13yr old daughter used Falcon Safaris for all our outings as well as airport transfers. Canoeing, Devils Pool visit and Elephant back ride. They were all fantastic especially Vimbai and Edna. We had an amazing time and nothing was too much trouble to sort out for us.
Take the hassle out of your trip planning. We'll match you with top travel specialists.
